Maker Music Festival Education Resources

The Maker Music Festival [and Campus] is pleased to announce an exciting collaboration with the Playful Learning Lab at the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA focused on music education in the K-12 classroom.

The Playful Learning Lab team has reached out to makers to collect more information about their projects and to get their input as to how their project could be used in an educational environment and from that, they have developed “Field Trips” that guide teachers and students through the buildings based upon a particular theme or part of the world. A set of Field Trips have been developed. These Field Trips cover such topics as Stringed Instruments; Percussive Instruments; Projects from East Asia; Instruments that include Records or Cassette Tapes; and Projects from Argentina. The field trips include guiding questions, vocabulary, and links to the appropriate buildings. All designed to support music educators as they engage their students in the process of music making.
