"Horrorwave" and "What if I Want to Go Gently?" both incorporate a modified CRT TV screen. Cathode-ray tube televisions operate by firing electrons from the tube onto the screen to produce an image. With a bit of knowledge (and very important safety measures) one can intercept the signal and send CV information directly to the tube to be produced on the screen.

Typically CRT TV's operate with two sets of two terminals, each controlling the "X" and "Y" axis of the screen. So, by sending CV to each side, you can create an image on the screen with surprising amounts of detail and reactivity. NOTE: This isn't audio reactive, but rather reacts from the voltages sent by a synthesizer.

The visual synth used in "What if I Want To Go Gently?" is Lumen and was used by mapping midi info to different parameters controlling aspects of the visuals.
